We recorded a very funny set from both Jeff Applebaum and Fairth Alpher while they performed in Yuba City for a private event. They were both hilarious, with Faith performing the opening set and getting the crowd laughing in preparation for the main event - Jeff Applebaum.

Client: Halau Ka Waikahe Lani Malie and Halau Men of Kahulaliwai

Under the direction of Kumu Juni Romuar, Halau Ka Waikahe Lani Malie and Halau Kahulaiwai invite hundreds of people each year to their annual Ho`ike (show). This year, about 1000 people enjoyed a great Hawaiian Buffet dinner, excellent live dinner music (provided by the band Kekaniwai), and a wonderful show with over 200 participants!

Joanne asked us to come to Yuba City to capture a 'small get-together' for her Mom's birthday. It turns out there were over 250 people in attendance and her Mom was turning 90! It was such a pleasure to meet the whole family, capture 5 generation photos and video, and see birthday girl Gwen sing songs and play the harmonica. What an awesome lady! She still goes out and tends to her garden, growing corn, tomatoes and walnuts.

We also produced a special PAL version of this DVD for her German relatives. Es war ganz toll!

Project: Electronic News Gathering (ENG), On-Location event recording

With our remote studio location, we are occasionally able to get a different perspective on breaking news stories. Over the past few months, the warm weather here in the Sacramento area has caused quite a few fires to break out. We like to capture footage from these breaking stories and send them to our friends at local stations News10 and KCRA 3. With one of the larger fires, News10 even surprised us with a call on our cell phone where they immediately connected us to their live newscast for an interview.

We put together some highlights of footage used on TV in a brief montage.

Client: Loren Richmond / The Essence of Brass

Location: Cameron Park, CA
Loren had asked us to record a performance he was giving with a group of members of the Sacramento Youth Symphony. The group is a brass quintet that calls themselves 'The Essence of Brass' under the masterful direction of Julian C. Dixon. We were hired to shoot a few scenes of Loren accompanying the ensemble, but once we heard how great they sounded we just kept the camera rolling. Lucky for us, since we were inundated with DVD orders at the end of their performance!

The end product was a great sounding, live performance DVD with 6 songs. It even includes a song written and arranged by Loren Richmond for the group. Most of the performers left for a tour of Europe the following week. Expect to hear great music from them for many years to come.

Each year, the Ka Laua'e Foundation hosts a gathering of some of the most predominant names in Hawaiian Hula Arts. They bring these top teachers or Kumu, together in a weekend of sharing and friendship called 'E Pili Kakou I Ho`okahi Lahui'. Now in it's 10th year, lucky students from all over the world have the opportunity to learn from these top masters of their art, while making new friends and building existing relationships.

Red Dog Records was given the opportunity to capture this special weekend and compile it into
a set of DVDs. With over 40+ hours of total content, participants are able to relive this event
over and over as they wait for E Pili Kakou 2008.

Having a 90th birthday is pretty amazing, but a company having a 90th anniversary is almost unheard of! We had the opportunity to capture Radiological Associates 90th Anniversary Employee Meeting and create a promotional piece about the event and the company. It was an eye-opening experience. RAS treats their employees like gold, and as a result, their employees stick around for a very long time. We met folks that had been with RAS for over 20+ years. It is no wonder that RAS is one of the best places to work in the Sacramento Area.
With their current track record, RAS should be around to celebrate another 90 years!

Aloha Polynesia is a dynamic Hālau in the Sacramento area. Each year they participate in the Pacific Rim Festival in Old Sacramento, and each year tons of their fans come to watch. This year, we were able to capture their performance on one of the main stages during the festival and create a DVD for them. As usual, they were a crowd favorite and did a fantastic job.

Client: Mike and Liz O'Brien

We were asked by Mike and Liz O'Brien to create a tribute to Mike's mother Catherine. It is always a touching trip through the past as we assemble old photos and recount the history of a loved one. This time was unique because of the many, many people who were better off for knowing Catherine. We were honored to be able to create a tribute to this great woman.

Seeing over 400 people at the memorial service (during a weekday morning) reaffirms the many people who Catherine touched throughout her life.

Client: Que Viva Restaurant

Moises and Isabel Rodriguez are the proud owners of Que Viva restaurant in Cameron Park. (See info on their website below)

Moises had a big birthday party at the restaurant and we were there to capture all the music (about 10 guest musicians showed up), food and fun! For those that missed it, this atmosphere is recreated each Saturday night when Los Amigos band start playing.

This is a GREAT place to have a party!

Client: Loren Richmond

Loren is an amazing musician. In the short time we have worked with him, his work has included  traditional church services, memorials, classical solo pianos, contemporary church services, acoustic guitar albums, jazz combos, and full big bands.

Here we captured him performing with the local legend, Fred Morgan. We recorded footage for Loren to use in upcoming productions...stay tuned for more info!

When he is not playing keyboard, he can be found teaching both piano and guitar in Elk Grove, writing out complex horn arrangements, and planning his next big movie project.

Fred Morgan has been playing Jazz in the Sacramento area for decades. We were lucky enough to catch one of his performances for the Big Band Preservation Society in February 2007. They played some incredible jazz to a full house of hundreds of lucky dancers and jazz enthusiasts. We felt like we were watching history happen before our eyes.

We captured a few of his numbers and produced a short DVD for him. Watch this space for more from Fred as we work with him on a full length music video.

Client: Anthony and Marites de Guzman

Anthony and Marites are preparing for their 25th Wedding Anniversary and were looking for a way to bring their Wedding Album to life. We created a video of their album photos set to their special song and put it all on a long lasting DVD - complete with custom case and disc graphics!

They plan on showing it to their guests at their Anniversary events both in the US and in the Philippines.

Client: Eddie and Kristine Aducayen

Eddie and Kristine had a beautiful wedding. At the reception, Eddie sang with his band, various groups performed dances, and everyone had a wonderful time. We captured a few hundred non-traditional photos of his wedding and reception, combined them with 3 great songs from Eddie's wedding favor CD (see below), and created a unique memory they can cherish forever.

Marissa and Rodrigo has lots of old tapes in a variety of formats. Like many people, they always used the latest video technology to capture their family memories. As a result, they ended up with Betamax, VHS, 8MM and MiniDV tapes in their collection. They asked us to convert their fading memories over to a more stable format. Even though they live over 800 miles away, we converted their tapes over to DVD and created a long-lasting legacy they can pass on to their kids.

Moises and Isabel Rodriguez are the proud owners of Que Viva restaurant in Cameron Park. Although they have many repeat customers, they are always looking to expand their clientele and feel the web is a great way to do it. They asked us to create a site that takes advantage of technology, while providing the 'welcome home' feel of their restaurant. Enjoy the band performance on their front page.

Client: Christa Bower

Maria Klotz led a wonderful life and her family wanted to remember her final tribute for a long time to come. Since many of Maria's family members are still in Europe, the family wanted the DVDs to be viewable all over the world and in both NTSC and PAL formats.

We recorded the entire memorial service plus recorded the reception afterwards. We edited the footage down to about 2 hours on DVD and packaged it with custom graphics matching Maria's favorite flowers. All of her relatives, both local and overseas, loved it! 

Client: Gil Ilustrisimo

Gil Ilustrisimo wanted one last tribute to celebrate his wife Marilou's wonderful life. He wanted to create a photo story using photos and her favorite song, plus he wished to capture and preserve her funeral and reception on a professionally produced DVD.

Meeting Gil, his sons Thomas and Joseph, and relatives was such a joy. Their love for Marilou was definitely captured, and is now a permanent part of the Ilustrisimo DVD library. Plus, we created a mini-website so distant relatives could also enjoy her wonderful tribute.

Gil's memories were fading...well...his video tapes were fading! Gil has years of precious memories captured on fragile video tapes and he needed them converted to something that could be passed on to future generations.

We converted many of his tapes to DVD, while creating a personalized look for his entire video library.

Client: Sinag-tala Filipino Theater and Performing Arts Association

Sinag-tala performs an amazing theatrical review each year. Although they usually get a few thousand people to watch their show, they wanted to make a larger impact, PLUS be able to raise money to benefit the work they do for the rest of the year.
 
We produced a DVD of their December 2006 performances and helped them market it as a fundraiser. In the end, they pre-sold more then they had originally planned and had to increase their order! They are now set to use their DVD to create more excitement about Sinag-tala and get more corporate sponsors as well. For information, check out their website: www.sinag-tala.org

Glenn and Tess were about to celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary and they wanted to share their history with their 400+ guests. They asked us to create a DVD that showed them both growing up and then growing together. We restored many of their older photos and added their favorite song to make it a very memorable journey through the years. They provided copies to all of their children too. What a great way to pass their history on to future generations.

Glenn and Tess had only one copy of their 30th Wedding Anniversary ceremony and it was on VHS tape. Being over 20 years old, the images were fading and they worried the tape would stop playing. Plus, each time they played it, they risked losing it forever should the tape break. We converted it over to DVD so they could stop worrying and start watching.

Balikbahay, Inc. is a licensed brokerage group which provides efficient professional service to local and foreign investors, Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) and Filipinos living abroad who are interested in purchasing residential condominiums and single family residences in the Philippines.

Balikbahay needed a new website. Their old site did not offer their clients the interactive experience they were looking for. We created a site where their clients could register and receive information about the properties and areas that they are interested in. It is completely self-service and allows the team at Balikbahay to spend their time doing what they do best - finding outstanding real estate investments in the Philippines. Liz is a very talented belly dancer who performs at local restaurants and clubs in the Sacramento area. We captured one of her great bellydance performances at Habibi Cafe in Fair Oaks, CA and produced a High Definition DVD for her.

Alliance Audio Visual, LLC is in the process of creating a slew of new tools designed to assist Certified Estate Planners do their job. This 10 minute DVD, "Estate Planning Essentials" is the first one completed and will be available shortly through their website. 

Look for lots of activity from these folks! They are planning to make quite an impact on the Estate Planning community and have found a way to educate folks all over the country right over the web! OOPS! We don't want to give it away just yet. Watch this space for more details...

Tasha's is a shop filled with an ever-changing collection of uncommon clothing, jewelry, art & artifacts, incredible textiles & carpets, kitchenware, old architectural elements, and furniture treasures from around the world. Tasha had some bad experiences with website developers and hosting companies. She was promised the moon, paid for the stars, and received nothing but...well...nothing! She was incredibly leery about trying to get a website up and running. We assured her that we could do it AND keep everything within her budget! Being a creative soul, Tasha liked the fact that we actually worked WITH her to create her site. She also likes that we host and will update it monthly for a fraction of what she used to pay. Stephanie Haley was planning a really BIG birthday party. She rented out a hall in El Dorado Hills and even hired an up-and-coming Blues Star to play a private concert. She wanted to make sure this memory lasted a lifetime, so she hired us to record the event and create a DVD of her special day.

By the way...keep your eyes open for Jackie Greene. He is now playing all across the country so expect some major music from him in the future.

Ben Cu opened the first Chinese Filipino restaurant in Manila’s Chinatown over 30 years ago. It was the only place you could find dishes with the flavor of both cultures under one roof. Ben has brought his special cuisine to the Sacramento area at his own South Villa Restaurant.

Although South Villa has been operating at the same location for years, Ben knew it was time to go online. He had been approached by many different people to get his website started, but he chose us because he knew we would work with him, stay within his budget, and most of all, focus on making sure HE was happy with the results. The Filipino Community of Sacramento and Vicinity is working hard to raise funds needed to build a community center in Sacramento. They needed a website that would keep the public up to date regarding the progress of the building project.

We created a site that included a shared calendar for upcoming events, plus a FLASH version of their promotional video. They also needed a site they THEY could take over and update themselves. At Hemalayas, you will enjoy the fine dining atmosphere, Indian cuisine with American flare, lunch buffet, eight different types of bread and over 50 dishes, live music on Friday and Saturday night, and full bar.

Here is the challenge: Create a website for an incredibly good Indian Restaurant, but try not to spend all your time 'researching' their buffet lunch! We didn't do so well... But we did build them a great website. Being a new business, Hemalayas is watching every dollar they spend. They wanted to start out with a simple website that could be expanded as their business expanded. They also liked that we gave them direct access to their website statistics. This allows them to accurately evaluate their web investment each month.

Fernando's Costa de Sol is a family restaurant run by the Sierra family. Owners Fernando and Martha delight their customers with their delicious recipes of authentic Mexican, Salvadorean and Seafood Cuisine.

Having just moved to a new location, Fernando knew he needed to get the word out. He started a large marketing campaign and hired us to create their website. This multimedia CD+ was recorded at Red Dog Studios and on location at Grace Cathedral in San Francisco. They used it to raise funds for their various music programs at Sheldon High School.
